PS Sandown in the Solent in August 1963 en route to Portsmouth
Designed for the Portsmouth, Southsea and Ryde service to the Isle of Wight
Sandown was a sister ship of PS Ryde, and they both served as
minesweepers and anti-aircraft ships in the Second World War.
Coal burning until the end, she was deemed to be too outdated for the increasing need to carry cars and was withdrawn and broken up at the end
 of the 1964 season
