Belonged to King Harold before he lost the Battle of Hastings
It is mentioned in 1086 in The Domesday Book as belonging to William the Conqueror
On his death, his son, William Rufus became the owner. Unfortunately he was killed in a hunting accident in The New Forest on the mainland
1136, Engdelger de Bohun sold to the monks of Quarr Abbey
This deed is still in existence at the British Museum
The monks farmed the area for 400 years until Henry 8th confiscated the manor in 1536
Thomas Wriothsey obtained Haseley about 1537 and he sold it in 1538 for £620 to John Myll
1562 owned by John's son, George
1603 Sir Richard Myall owner
1608 owned by Sir Thomas Fleming M.P. Lord Chief Justice of England
The Fleming family owned the manor until
1952 Browns Farms Ltd
1976 Raymond & Krystyna Young
1988 Raymond Young, and sons Mark, and James
So, as you can see, this property has had continuous habitation for the past 1000 years.
