Shanklin
Shanklin has associations with the poets Longfellow and Keats who
enjoyed the beauty of the area
Shanklin Chine is a deep ravine with waterfall in the cliffs where flowers grow in profusion
Parts of the area are protected by the National Trust
The old village has thatched cottages, and an ancient church
Shanklin once had it's own pier, but this was damaged during the winter storms of 1987
and has now been demolished
